List of films for when you just feel a certain way

Hi guys!

So for my first post EVER (I'll repost if i gain more followers) is going to be a desirable list of films to watch when you just feel that overwhelming emotion and you need to take it out on some junk food, the sofa and a film. So I'll put the emotion and then the film. I'll also pop a couple of trailers at the bottom for you all, so if you're not familiar with a film then go check it out!

Sad (the type of sad where you want to curl up into a ball and weep) - The Iron Giant
It's childlike and animated, but whenever I watch it, I cry for at least half an hour. Also because it's sad the whole way through, it purges you of those feelings and helps you cry it out BITCH. Another good one is the animated version of Tarzan, Phil Collins you beautiful bitch.

Ultra sad - The Green Mile.
OMG. Real people doing supernatural stuff and a big black guy that is just so adorable. Oh and Tom Hanks. Set in the days of executions and the electric chair, I actually had to stop this film because I was crying so much. Or the boy in the striped pyjamas. Man I wept.

Angry (violent angry, like you want to beat the shit out of something) - A Clockwork Orange
This film is fucked up beyond belief. Random fact for you: the director of this film actually stopped it being released because he hated it so much. Some fantastic acting performances and very violent scenes make this one a must see!

Angry as in 'fight a war' angry - Any lord of the rings film. (fellowship of the ring is my favey)
Brilliant. Amazing director, actors, script, screenplay. These films literally have it all.

Party mood - Project X
Hilarious, laugh out loud funny. I wish parties were like this, seriously.

Laughing until your balls drop - Step brothers/Anchorman
I couldn't choose because Will ferrell is just a great person. Anchorman is funny because of Ron Burgundy, Step brothers because of the John C Reilly, Will ferrell pairing. Both will probably make you pee in your knickers.

Laughing a little but a bit of sadness in there too - Wedding Crashers
This film is hilarious but actually quite sad. It all works out in the end though thank god. I mean who wouldn't want to love Owen Wilson? Am I right?

'Saving the world'-y - Armageddon
Bruce, Bruce, Bruce. and Ben Affleck. sexy.

Classy - Amelie or Chocolat
Most French films are fantastic as the film making quality over there is uncomparable. Chocolat will probably win beacuse of Jonny Depp. Pure and simple.

Childrens film - Any of the old Disneys or Pixars. My personal favourites are Wall-E, Mulan, Antz and James and the giant peach.

When you want to cry so much it hurts - Up.
Every time it gets me. It is SO SAD.

Lazy - Any movie about exercise. Run fat boy run is a good one.

Horny - The Karma Sutra.
Yes they made a film of it. Yes I have seen it. What did I think of it? Meh.

Musical - Little shop of horrors/dreamgirls/Rent/Rock of ages
All fantastic, all musical.

When you want to be scared, but jumpy - I hate to say it but Paranormal Activity is good for this. If all you want is to jump then these films are pretty good for it. The actual stories? Big piles of shite. Fims like Insidious and Sinister are good too.

In a gory mood - The hills have eyes or the descent. Also there's a film I can't remember the name of, whose main character is called Pinhead? (Comment me the name of the film) that is just so bloody gory.

Fighting Aliens - Men in black if you want laughs, but if you want a serious one then Alien. The first one is the best one, after that they just get a bit shit.

Fighting robots - I, robot or Terminator

Fighting bad guys - The dark knight rises
Tom Hardy's Bane is just superb.

Quirky - There's a film about a small girl that goes to a beauty Pageant with her mismatched family. Fantastic watch, makes you laugh cry and get mad! Sunshine something I think

In a general, overall happy mood - Any  of the toy story series, Monsters Inc or finding Nemo
These films make me smile so much as they remind me of childhood and they're great films!

Also if you haven't seen any of these films, You're mad:
-Scott Pilgrim vs the world
-The hunger games
-The hobbit
-Grease
-Memento
-24 days/weeks later
-Most pixar/Disney films (live your childood, seriously.)

The list goes on and on and on. Stay tuned for next sunday!
Bye guys, talk later x

Intro

Hello!

This is an introductory post to tell you kind of what this blog will be about. First, a little bit about me.

My name is Ruby Gibson and I'm 18 years old. I'm currently studying Performing Arts BA (hons) at Chichester University. I'm living in student halls and I am currently single.

Basically, being a first year student, I have a lot of free time on my hands, so I tend to fill that time watching films or programs I've never seen before. That's how I came up with the idea to create a review blog. That way, there's a productive way of wasting my day away watching films!

So you might be wondering, well, If you're only 18, how can you be qualified to give an accurate review of a film? In all honesty, I don't think I am qualified. But I did take GCSE and A Level Media Studies and I almost studied it at university level. This still doesn't mean that I am in any way qualified I just simply enjoy reviewing and analysing films. I am very opinionated which sometimes isn't the best for reviews, but I can guarantee that my reviews will be thought through, and make sense.

Also, as I am only 18 years of age, I advise anyone that is looking for a completely serious review to not read this blog. I am very immature and I find myself hilarious when most people tend not to (true story). Saying that, my reviews might not be to your taste. So If you dislike my reviewing style please remember that we are completely different people and there are a lot of other reviewing blogs who are more serious and boring (jokes!). I want to keep my blog fun, and if that's not what you're looking for in a review website, please look elsewhere.

Ok, that's the serious part over with. Right so I will plan to post every sunday about a new film. Occasionally you will also get wednesday posts but these may not be film reviews, they may be lists of things I find funny or news articles or something to lighten the mood y'know? I will try to analyse things such as character, plot, context, props/lighting/costume, camera angles (mostly only for films with handheld camera as who wants to read a paragraph about camera angles??), and acting performance. At the end of the post I'll give the movie an overall rating out of TEN stars. 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. This is not in any way associated with any review websites, it is simply my opinion. at the beginning of each review, I'll give you a brief overview of the plot and the trailer. At the end of the post I will also have a segment called 'If you liked this, you might like....', which basically explains itself. These will have titles and trailers.

Well that's about all from me for now. Expect a post next sunday with my first review!

Ruby
